Prayer Station
A Prayer Station is usually located in sacred space, perhaps in a sanctuary or in the entry way of a worship center. I maintain a permanent Prayer Station in our Sanctuary at Ashford United Methodist Church where I serve as a Prayer Leader in Worship. We follow the Revised Common Lectionary (RCL) so I create with the church season and the liturgical colors in mind. Visit my blog at mosaicbiblestudy.blogspot.com for more information on the RCL. I always include prayer "pieces" and prayer cards for persons to pick up. Prayer Stations are intended to be "interactive."

When I facilitate a Labyrinth Walk, a Prayer Vigil, or a Contemplative Retreat, I like to include prayer stations because many people have a hard time praying for long periods of time without some kind of prompts. Prayers Stations help people learn to pray!
