Prayer is communication with God. We take the time to talk and we take the time to listen. Create a prayer focus to create a physical space where you can explore your relationship with God. You can pray, read, reflect and meditate, in the silence or with words. A prayer focus reminds me of God’s presence that is always with me. It gives me a sacred place to remember everything God has done and continues to do in my life. It gives me a place to contemplate how God is calling me to BE the cindy I was created to BE and to DO what I was created to DO. I invite you to create your own sense of sacred space to explore YOUR spiritual life.
Create a PERSONAL PRAYER FOCUS
in your HOME or on your desk at your OFFICE ... or anywhere!
*Gather some items that you love:
items that remind you of an answered prayer
items that make you feel close to God
*Find a beautiful cloth or just the right scarf
*Arrange the articles in a place that feels right, perhaps on your desk
or a shelf or a table by your entry way or your big easy chair, etc
*Name your altar ... be creative
*Spend time in prayer as you contemplate the symbolism
*Develop a sense of what works for you
*Think about things you might add or remove depending on your sense
of the holy
*Consider the church seasons ... Advent, Christmas, Lent, Easter, etc.
*Consider including a basket in your sacred space to hold your bible,
a journal, colorful pens, a holy card with your favorite prayer, etc.
NOW ... PRAY and CELEBRATE your BLESSINGS!
grace & peace, cindy

I do love my colorful pens and my oil pastels!

who was standing here in your presence, praying to the Lord. 1 Sam 1:26
